About this hotel

The resort's name gives away its setting: it fronts Taihu New City's wetland park rather than the older silk quarter or the busier lakefront strip near Yuantouzhu, which makes for a quieter, greener view than most towers in this guide. The indoor pool and hot tub sit inside the fitness-centre wing, kept indoors through Wuxi's damp winter months so the amenity stays usable year-round. Three restaurants cover breakfast through dinner without needing to leave the grounds, and the airport shuttle option smooths arrivals for guests flying rather than taking the high-speed rail. Rooms lean upscale rather than boutique, aimed at a resort-style stay over a strictly corporate one. The wetland setting also means a slightly longer taxi ride into the old silk quarter than the towers nearer Taihu New City's business core.

Our take

This suits travellers who want a lake-and-wetland outlook without paying full lakefront-Yuantouzhu prices, plus an indoor pool and hot tub that stay usable through the winter. It reads more resort than the conference towers near Taihu New City's business core, which makes it a reasonable middle ground between a business stay and a leisure one, though guests wanting the busiest restaurant scene should book closer to the historic centre instead.

  • Ask for a wetland-facing room specifically, the resort's name promises the view but not every room angle delivers it equally.
  • Use the indoor pool and hot tub together in late afternoon, before the fitness-centre crowd peaks in the early evening.
  • Book the airport shuttle ahead of time rather than on arrival, it isn't always available on short notice.

Why we love it

  • Indoor pool and hot tub together
  • Faces the Taihu wetland park
  • Three restaurants on site
  • Airport shuttle option available
Why guests love it

The wetland view from our room turned out to be the best part of a four-night stay, quieter and greener than the city-facing towers we'd seen elsewhere in Wuxi. The indoor pool and hot tub combination made for an easy wind-down after walking the wetland boardwalk out front. Rotating between the three restaurants kept dinner varied without leaving the grounds. The airport shuttle ran on time both ways, though we'd booked it a full day ahead rather than trying on arrival.
