Our take
Gran Meliá Xian scores 9.6 from 96 reviews, a strong result on a moderate sample, and I would book it for the indoor pool and hot tub, usable through Xi'an's cold winters and hot summers. A full-service spa and a fitness centre complete the wellness side. Two restaurants and a cigar lounge suit the evening, and the hotel is smoke-free and kid-friendly.
- ✓Make sure to set aside time for a dip in the indoor pool, especially after a day of sightseeing.
- ✓Consider booking a spa treatment to complement your relaxation in the hot tub.
- ✓Take advantage of the on-site restaurants for convenient and high-quality dining options.
Why we love it
- The serene indoor pool for year-round use
- Relaxing hot tub within the spa area
- Elegant rooms and suites for a comfortable stay
- Multiple dining options and a cigar lounge
Why guests love itThe cigar lounge and full-service spa signal Gran Melia's positioning at the top end of Xi'an's market, backed by an indoor pool and hot tub for guests wanting to relax after touring the city wall or the Muslim Quarter. Two restaurants keep dining on-site without repetition, and the smoke-free, kid-friendly policies extend the appeal beyond couples to families travelling together. At 9.6 across 96 reviews, this is a well-reviewed high-end stay rather than a niche pick with thin feedback.
