Tapu Beach was close enough for a short walk before dinner most evenings, and the eight-kilometre run from the airport made arrival painless.

We picked this one for the free parking and the price, not expecting much from a hotel this understated, and the indoor pool turned out to be genuinely well kept despite the no-frills approach. The lake-view room was a pleasant surprise over the standard category. Haicang district felt removed from central Xiamen, the taxi to Dongdu Wharf took longer than expected, but the pool itself never disappointed across the stay.

The bar being a short walk from the pool changed the whole rhythm of the evenings, a swim followed by drinks rather than two separate outings. Live music one night was an unplanned bonus that made the stay feel less like a standard business hotel. Sea-view rooms were worth the upgrade over the city-view category. The 3.2-kilometre run to Xiamen Conference & Exhibition Centre made a work event easy to fit around the rest of the trip.

The indoor pool here felt calmer than expected for a Jimei business hotel, no play area crowding the water, just a straightforward swim before dinner. The fitness centre next door meant a workout and a soak in the hot tub could happen back to back without leaving the wing. Outdoor seating by the bar became the evening spot once the pool closed. Dongdu Wharf made an easy half-day trip on the one free afternoon.

The indoor pool was almost incidental to booking here, Tapu Beach a short walk away was the real draw, but the pool ended up getting used every evening once the beach closed for the day. Sea-view rooms meant waking up to actual water rather than a courtyard. Executive lounge access was a quiet spot to work through the one rainy afternoon. The 13-kilometre run from Gaoqi Airport was easy with private check-in already arranged.

The play area sitting right next to the pool meant one adult could watch both kids without running between rooms, which sounds small until you have actually tried to manage a hotel pool and a bored toddler solo. The hot tub became the parents' reward once the kids were finally worn out. Breakfast covered enough ground that nobody complained for four straight mornings, and Jimei District's own sights filled the afternoons without needing to cross into central Xiamen.

The one-minute walk to Wanda Square made this feel less like a hotel stay and more like a base in the middle of the action. We used the pool most mornings and the T2 Teppanyaki most evenings, close enough to walk both ways without a taxi. The airport shuttle on arrival was a small thing that saved real hassle after a long flight, and the polish of the stay matched the property's heavy review volume.
