Yantai is a port city on the north coast of the Shandong peninsula, with a real winter. January averages around -0.6 °C, with nights near -4 °C, while August reaches about 26 °C, warm, humid and the rainiest season. The sea warms up to around 24 °C in August and is pleasant for swimming only from July to September. That makes indoor pools and hot tubs the useful facilities here for eight or nine months of the year. It is also the most reviewed of the five, 106 reviews at 9.0 out of 10, which makes its score the most reliable here. Do not confuse it with Hilton Yantai Golden Coast, a separate hotel.
The Westin Yantai is the address for a spa stay. Marriott describes a heated indoor pool and the Heavenly Spa, a large wellness floor of about 1,814 square metres with nine treatment rooms and views of the sea and mountains, plus a sauna and a steam room. Our data lists a jacuzzi; Marriott's listing describes the pool and spa without naming one, so ask before booking for it. Its 9.6 out of 10 is the highest score, but on only 12 reviews, so I treat it as a first impression.
Crowne Plaza Yantai Sea View, at 299 East Gangcheng Street in Laishan District, sits 0.8 km from the coast near Yantai Sports Park and the Yantai International Expo Centre. Listings describe an indoor pool, a hot tub, a children's pool and a sauna, plus three restaurants. Its 7.6 out of 10 on 51 reviews is the lowest of the five, so expect rooms that feel older than the pool area. I would choose it for an Expo Centre event or a stay on the Laishan side, not as a pool destination in itself.
Two hotels have a hot tub without a pool. Fulitai International Hotel, a five-star address scoring 8.2 out of 10 on 34 reviews, keeps its tub with the fitness centre and the bar, and sits about 52 km from Yantai Penglai International Airport. Citadines Jinqiao Building Yantai, an aparthotel with kitchenette apartments, has a hot tub beside its fitness room, but only three reviews. Neither of the two is the right choice if you want to swim; both suit a longer business stay where a hot soak after the gym is all you need.
A traveler's takeFor a family, I would book Hilton Yantai without hesitating: indoor pool, hot tub and a separate kids' pool, with the most reviews of the five. For a couple or a spa weekend, The Westin Yantai and its Heavenly Spa make more sense, as long as you confirm the jacuzzi. Crowne Plaza Yantai Sea View is the practical choice for the Expo Centre. I would not book Fulitai or Citadines for swimming: they have a hot tub, not a pool. And in summer, I would leave the hotel pool for the beaches.

Why guests love itThe steam room next to the indoor pool made for a genuinely relaxing wind-down each evening, closer to a spa weekend than a typical hotel stay. The restaurant's range surprised us, sushi one night and a proper British breakfast the next morning without repeating a menu once. Concierge help planning a downtown day out was useful, since the pool and wellness side, while excellent, would not have filled several days on their own.

Why guests love itThis reads best as a base for a working trip rather than a family pool holiday. The kitchenette apartment cut down on eating out, and the hot tub was a genuinely useful way to relax after long days without needing to leave the building. Do not expect a swimming pool or resort atmosphere: the water here is one hot tub, shared with whoever else is staying, and it delivers exactly that and nothing more.

Mountain-view rooms were a pleasant surprise, a different outlook from the sea views most Golden Coast properties advertise. This felt like the most complete downtown option for a family.
