Our take
I would consider the Jianguo Hotel Shanghai for travelers bringing a pet who still want an indoor pool: the hotel is pet-friendly, and a fitness center and dining options sit alongside the pool. WiFi and parking are free, which suits business and leisure trips by car. Its 7.6 from 104 reviews is fair rather than strong, so I would compare it with other Shanghai options.
- ✓Use the indoor pool for a relaxing swim after a day of exploring Shanghai.
- ✓Take advantage of the fitness center to maintain your routine while traveling.
- ✓Consider the pet-friendly policy if you're traveling with your furry companion.
Why we love it

- Well-equipped fitness center on site
- Pet-friendly policy for animal lovers
- Convenient dining and bar options
Why guests love itThis was a practical, no-frills stop for us between longer legs of the trip, and the indoor pool kept our son entertained for a solid hour each afternoon while we caught up on laundry. Free parking meant we could rent a car for a day trip without hunting for a garage nearby, and the pet-friendly rooms meant our cat's carrier did not need to become a whole negotiation at check-in. It is not fancy, but it did exactly what we needed.
