We arrived in August, deep in the rainy season, and the indoor pool turned out to be the reason the trip did not lose a single swimming day to the downpours. Sleeping on a moored boat sounds gimmicky until you actually feel the slight rock at night, which we found more soothing than strange. The hot tub on the top deck at dusk, with the river traffic passing below, was the best hour of the whole Yangon trip. Botahtaung Pagoda's jetty is close enough to walk over for the evening light. No pool here, so anyone wanting to swim should book elsewhere on this list.

We used the shuttle to Shwedagon Pagoda twice and it saved real money over taxis at this price point. The hot tub was a pleasant surprise given the rate, hot enough and rarely occupied when we checked in the evening. No pool to speak of, so anyone expecting a swim should look elsewhere on this list. Basic rooms, honest value, exactly what the price suggests.
